Thanks David! I’m pretty sure this is the placement I’ll go with. An added bonus to this placement, that you can’t see from the mock-up, is that you will be able to see the curve of the piano from the living room, and sitting like this, I will be able to see all the way to the back of the living room as well.
I’m going to ask the movers to be ready to try a few placements but this is he one I’ll start with and if it works, then that’s what I’ll go with. 🤞🤞🤞

I’m just getting to this thread. I haven’t read all the posts but I like either the one that’s just above this or

I don’t know how they’d differ acoustically, which I know is your main concern. But aesthetically, I like that in both, the piano opens into the room. I might make the decision on how much you want to be able to look out the windows while you’re playing. If the view is really nice, then I might go for the one where you can look toward the window. If the view is not great, I think I’d go for the one where you’re looking into the room.

We moved today and the piano is in! Yay!! I only played it just enough to check all the keys so I don’t have a sense of how it sounds yet. We’re exhausted from moving, so I’ll check it out tmrw. But here are some photos.

Congrats on getting through the move! The piano looks great!

    Thanks everyone!

shawarma_bees How is the volume and acoustics?

    No idea yet 😅

    We’re exhausted, I’ll play tmrw.

It looks great! I think you picked a great final placement and hopefully it sounds good in that spot!!

ShiroKuro Thanks David! I’m pretty sure this is the placement I’ll go with. I think this is the best placement. You have an angle for acoustics, if you have someone in the room (say doing a duet) they have a place to stand near the piano. If you have the curtains open at all, you will have the light at your back and not be looking into it.

Looks like the piano move went very well. Congratualations and wishing you much happiness in your new home.

Very nice!! How good that you have moved. I hope you'll enjoy your new home better than the previous one.

Now you can throw your cute little purse on the red chair after a day at the office, and sit down and play on that magnificent piano!

      Thank you everyone!

      Rubens, Love it! 😆😆😆

It looks great! I think you made the right choice with a diagonal placement that highlights the piano as the focus of the room!

My setup is very similar. Looks great, and congrats on the move!
