BTW, this is a very hastily drawn sketch meant to show how the piano room flows into the living room. It's very open, when sitting at the piano, I can see into the living room. Also, where it says "opening at top," that's a divider wall that basically blocks the entryway from the living room. (ETA I just realized the front door isn't in the right spot here, but that's ok)
When you come in the front door, you're in a fairly roomy entryway, and that divider wall only goes maybe 3/4 of the way to the ceiling. Also, where it says "open" those are openings (more than just doorways) that are wide and open all the way to the ceiling. As a result, the sound moves through this space very well (Mr. SK won't be able to watch TV while I'm practicing π
)
So I'm hoping that if I'm going to play for someone, they could either just sit in the living room, or maybe there's enough room for say four people to sort of sit in the hallway. (As hallways go, it's fairly wide). We'll see.... I'll report back the first time I have someone over. π€
