The books are split into the various parts; theory, lessons, repertoire, sight reading, etc. Each week (or 2 or 3) should use all the books in some manner or fashion.
If I remember right, the basic package doesn't have the sight reading book but you can work around that by having your daughter sight read the repertoire piece aloud for you before she begins working on it. Sight reading skill videos on youboob might be helpful (like the videos of the landmark system) to speed up the sight reading process but my use of the Sight Reading Factory showed me that a lot of focused practice is really the key to recognizing which lines and spaces are which notes. Good sight reading only requires fast recognition of where the dots are on the staff. The faster you are at doing that, the better sight reader you are.
There's a "code" in the books. Little symbols are printed at the bottom of the pages. These link to the other books. What each one means can be decoded at the top of the columns on the index page. (With help from some members here I finally got that figured out!) The associated page in the other books is given and indicates the required homework from all the books for the week (or 2 or 3).
It's kind of an awkward system for a self learner at first but you'll get the hang of it. The struggle will be to keep motivated. Or, at least that's what I've found from my own travails.
