hebele Thank you!
PianoTell Recital #3 Is Now Live!
Sgisela β Danza de los ñÑñigos
That was a complex piece and you played it excellently. Respect!
Gooseberry β Nights in White Satin
I like this arrangement and you played it very smoothly. The only suggestion I have is that perhaps the RH could be played a little louder to accent the melody more, but this is just a matter of preference and maybe my view is coloured by having strong memories of hearing the hit song, which was performed as a power ballad.
bSharp β Open Arms
I loved this performance - it's a great arrangement and you played it beautifully. Also, you have lovely hands and they move very gracefully over the keys - an added bonus for viewers.
"Don't let's ask for the moon, we have the stars." (Final line from Now,Voyager, 1942)
Sam Schumann op 15-6 - Sorry to hear about your friend.
SalmonJack Just Mist by SalmonJack - I liked the second video better. Perhaps it was just because the audio wasn't as harsh sounding to me. Or it could have been the pretty pictures.
Rob 'Pembrokeshire Promise.' by Rob - Lovely. The nod to the anthem and the Red Dragon are a nice touch.
BicBic BicBic in Utah - Your performance was well done and I'm waiting to listen to more of you performing Chopin's Masurkas.
Sgisela Danza de los ñÑñigos, Ernesto Lecuona - Your concentration on the piece was very visible. That's not saying it was a bad thing, only that I could see it. At the end it was also obvious that you enjoyed playing this piece.
Gooseberry Nights in White Satin by The Moody Blues - Wonderfully played. From the performance I could tell how much emotion was in this for you.
Today's commentary is now done. Thank you all for making my day a bit brighter.
Greta99 β Berceuse, Op. 23 No. 1
I had never heard of this composer before, but after hearing your lovely performance of that piece I'd like to hear more. You play beautifully - how long have you been playing?
ShiroKuro β Wind
What a lovely relaxing piece of music - I could imagine looking across a river and watching ripples of water as a gentle breeze rustles nearby trees. You are an extremely competent player.
navindra β Over The Rainbow
This piece from A's book 1 is very familiar to me - I did tackle it but it's not as easy as it appears and I never played it as well as you - that was very nicely done. The hat was a great choice - so stylish! (I think it would look much better without the pony tail though - you could tuck it inside the hat next time, for a smoother look.)
"Don't let's ask for the moon, we have the stars." (Final line from Now,Voyager, 1942)
rogerch β Flutter - another great improv! The title fits perfectly!
Nightowl β Frankie and Johnnie - Well done! Used to play this in a former life with a bluegrass band, but I was playing banjo!
Peyton β A Dream of Far Away (part two) - keeps getting better and better!
Animisha β To a Wild Rose - Very well done! I think this is the piece that MacDowell tossed in the trash. His wife found it there and made him keep it...
keff β Summertime - Really easy to listen to! Loved that last chord!
iternabe β MalagueΓ±a - Love this piece - of course, it exists in lots of arrangements for just about every instrument or band or orchestra. Well played!
Sophia & @rsl12 β Just a "Good Old Tune" - Excellent all around from both of you! Including the video editing!
rach3master β Call of Silence: Attack on Titan OST - Another great one!
plop_symphony β A Hermit Crab Surfing - A lot of fun - to listen to and to play!
Player1 β Legend of Madrid - Sounded good even though you have had some problems - just keep plugging away at it!
MarieJ β I Giorni - commented at PW - still sounds great over here!
Gooseberry
Thank you!
Nightowl I had never heard of this composer before, but after hearing your lovely performance of that piece I'd like to hear more. You play beautifully - how long have you been playing?
Thank you! I had 2 years of lessons as a child. After a break of several decades, I bought a cheap digital piano in 2010 and tried to learn without a piano teacher. I took piano lessons for a few months in 2015, but had to stop due to time constraints. I have been practicing regularly since 2017, and until 2022 I had occasional lessons with my teacher, 2 to 3 times a year. Now I learn on my own.
Greta99 Oh, so you are a repeat returner... there seem to be quite a few around here. From the time frames you mentioned you're now into your 8th consecutive year of playing, which explains your advanced skill level. You must feel pleased that you stuck with it and now your commitment is paying dividends.
"Don't let's ask for the moon, we have the stars." (Final line from Now,Voyager, 1942)
rach3master Beautifully played with great feeling and expression. I have not heard this piece before, but it is definitely my kind of music. Excellent audio production to my ears.
plop_symphony A fun piece, played really well! Your performance conveyed everything that was promised in the title.
