rogerch β€” Flutter - another great improv! The title fits perfectly!

Nightowl β€” Frankie and Johnnie - Well done! Used to play this in a former life with a bluegrass band, but I was playing banjo!

Peyton β€” A Dream of Far Away (part two) - keeps getting better and better!

Animisha β€” To a Wild Rose - Very well done! I think this is the piece that MacDowell tossed in the trash. His wife found it there and made him keep it...

keff β€” Summertime - Really easy to listen to! Loved that last chord!

iternabe β€” MalagueΓ±a - Love this piece - of course, it exists in lots of arrangements for just about every instrument or band or orchestra. Well played!

Sophia & @rsl12 β€” Just a "Good Old Tune" - Excellent all around from both of you! Including the video editing!

rach3master β€” Call of Silence: Attack on Titan OST - Another great one!

plop_symphony β€” A Hermit Crab Surfing - A lot of fun - to listen to and to play!

Player1 β€” Legend of Madrid - Sounded good even though you have had some problems - just keep plugging away at it!

MarieJ β€” I Giorni - commented at PW - still sounds great over here!

    Sam Thank you.

Sophia What a sweet piece, well played! It's nice to see something from a female composer - not unusual now, but definitely back then.

Thank you! You're right, that's why she chose to publish her music under the name of Mel rather than her birth name MΓ©lanie.

    Peyton
    Thank you!

    Sgisela
    Thank you!

    rogerch

    Thank you!

    WieWaldi
    Thank you!

Nightowl I had never heard of this composer before, but after hearing your lovely performance of that piece I'd like to hear more. You play beautifully - how long have you been playing?

Thank you! I had 2 years of lessons as a child. After a break of several decades, I bought a cheap digital piano in 2010 and tried to learn without a piano teacher. I took piano lessons for a few months in 2015, but had to stop due to time constraints. I have been practicing regularly since 2017, and until 2022 I had occasional lessons with my teacher, 2 to 3 times a year. Now I learn on my own.

Greta99 Oh, so you are a repeat returner... there seem to be quite a few around here. πŸ™‚ From the time frames you mentioned you're now into your 8th consecutive year of playing, which explains your advanced skill level. You must feel pleased that you stuck with it and now your commitment is paying dividends.

"Don't let's ask for the moon, we have the stars." (Final line from Now,Voyager, 1942)

Nightowl Thank you for your kind words, Nightowl!

Nightowl I certainly don't remember playing that well after fourteen months!
For the most part your rhythm was rock solid, and the final chord was beautifully played.

iternabe Your playing is perfect! The lessons with @Seeker are certainly paying off. I especially liked the alternating fingers on the E. It makes a subtle, yet significant difference to the sound. Bravo, or should that be, OlΓ©!

rach3master Beautifully played with great feeling and expression. I have not heard this piece before, but it is definitely my kind of music. Excellent audio production to my ears.

plop_symphony A fun piece, played really well! Your performance conveyed everything that was promised in the title.

Player1 I was sorry to read that you have issues preventing you from playing, but I applaud you for taking part uder the circumstances.
Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.

Pathbreaker I closed my eyes, and felt I was in an intimate concert hall.
            Just beautiful. Thank you.

            edited to remove post.

hebele Greta99 thanks for sharing this composer. I immediately thought she must had an impressive life to get recognition in late romantic era. According to Wikipedia, Saint-Saens exclaimed "I never imagined a woman could write such music!". The piece itself was well played and quite pleasant to listen to, which I did a few times. Thanks.

Thank you! Mel Bonis was a very unhappy woman. For those interested, here is a short biography of her:
            https://www.mel-bonis.com/EN/Biographie/
When I read it for the first time, I was very moved. I now appreciate much more that I was always allowed to make my own decisions.

hebele β€” Minuet in G - no visible scars that I can see - or hear! We all play this at some point. You did a great job with the ornaments too!

Pathbreaker β€” Op. 116 No. 6, Intermezzo in E major - Commented over at PW - but i will add that I am envious of you for playing the 2 against 3 so well - I always struggle with those in Brahms...

Calavera β€” Antipyretic - Commented over at PW. This time I looked up a definition for the title - I thought it referred to fire, but it is fever - fever-reducing. Clever!

WieWaldi β€” Frisco Blues - Another blues! Great, very laid-back like the other one - easy to listen to!

SalmonJack β€” Just Mist - Commented at PW. Still sounds (and looks) good!

Rob β€” Pembrokeshire Promise - Excellent! Wistful and heartfelt!

BicBic β€” Mazurka Op.6 No.2 - Love the Mazurkas! But I don't get those people who obsess over just the right way to play them. Just have fun with it! I am learning op 24#1 for the Dance Music recital at PW in a couple of months. Well done!

Sgisela β€” Danza de los ñÑñigos - Commented over at PW. Good for you on memorizing it - some pieces just come together and are easier to remember.

Gooseberry β€” Nights in White Satin - very smooth - brings back memories! Well done!

bSharp β€” Open Arms - very enjoyable to listen too - so smooth!

Greta99 β€” Berceuse, Op. 23 No. 1 - I heard some Bonis at University when we studied some of the female composers - Interesting stuff. Well played! You did a great job bringing out that low melody in the middle section.

ShiroKuro β€” Wind - Very well done - I can tell you love this kind of music!

navindra β€” Over The Rainbow - your video work is exceptional! And the piano playing is great too!

Another great recital! Everybody keep practicing!
            Sam
