Submitted. Whew!
PianoTell Recital #3 β Meta Feedback
navindra You can always share Take #2 later. I've done plenty of second takes myself.
Does that mean that there is the option to replace the original submission with a second take, provided that we do it before the deadline? If so, I guess we would lose our original place and be placed last?

Wow, 7 submissions so far! Will share the set list later today.
Nightowl Does that mean that there is the option to replace the original submission with a second take, provided that we do it before the deadline? If so, I guess we would lose our original place and be placed last?
I originally meant that P1 could share a second take (e.g. in Member Recordings) after the recital if he ever got to making one.
However, to answer your question, Sophia is correct.

I'm still confused... Sophia said I was "good with my position" and Nav said that was correct, but do you both mean that is the case with PW, but is not the case here? So, over on PW you can resubmit but would lose your place, but here perhaps you would not lose it, because perhaps there is a way to replace the original video on the host site and still use the same link to it, so no change is needed on this forum to link to an updated recording? Technology confuses me!

PW hosts the MP3 files, and apparently their recital site is programmed in such a way that the recital order is based on the order in which the music is uploaded. And if someone uploads a new version to replace the old one, it resets to the bottom.
But here in PT we all host our own files, so the order in which we submit the post is leading. Technically we could "cheat" and submit something without any music, and then add the link to the video later by editing the post. No idea what purpose that would serve, but... it's possible
Sophia Well, you still have an RC to maintain decorum. Edits are allowed on valid submissions, but I would certainly reach out if we got an invalid submission.

Player1 I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, maybe after the scan they will have the knowledge to sort out the issues and/or medicate to reduce the symptoms. If you are in pain and finding it hard to sit at your piano, would a mini keyboard be something you would consider using, something light enough that you could have it on your lap while relaxing in a comfy chair (or even while recuperating in bed), as a stopgap?

I did submit my piece for the recital. I wish it were better but it's what I have to offer.
P1, that's how I feel every time I submit a piece! I just keep telling myself not to let perfect get in the way of good enough. I'm pleased you decided to submit it and I hope your health improves soon.
navindra What a great selection of pieces. I did wonder if I might have got the number 1 spot this time, but anyway it's more appropriate for @rogerch to be number 1, considering his playing is always top notch! I'm very intrigued by the appearance of a "Special Guest" with @Sophia - it looks like we'll have a veritable constellation of stars appearing at this recital!

Haha I know exactly what is coming!
It is one of her cats. Either Simba or the adult kittens, Sandy or Lionel. But it could also be the kitten toy keyboard. Or a hand puppet like the one in her tap dancer video. Her husbands plays bagpipe, maybe she is doing a duet with him. And I wouldn't be surprised if she got a drummer monkey:
Ahhh, come on Sophia, what is it?
Who is your guest???
Nice strong end to the weekend!
