PianoTell Recital #3 opens for submissions a mere 2 weeks from now!

Did you participate in PianoTell Recital #2 or PianoTell Recital #1? Whatever the case, now's your chance to one-up your participation streak!

Why participate in regular recitals? This is an opportunity to share your music if you are a seasoned player, showcase your progress milestone by milestone if you're an active learner, stay motivated and on track, or simply contribute to the community fun! This is what it's all about.

Everyone is welcome and what you submit is up to you.

We will open for submissions on 31 January 2025 (ish) and the recital will go live on 15 February 2025.

The recital format will be the same as last time. See below for details!

    Wait! What? Aleady?? Ahh - I need to learn a new piece!

    Btw: I have seen Marc Matel live in Munich last year. It was an amazing show from the official Queen revival band. If I closed my eyes, I could have sworn, it is Freddy Mercury singing in person.

    I pledge! Not sure what I will record! Only just getting back into piano this week after December/Christmas.

    I have been unable to play for weeks, and I'm likely not going to be able to play for at least a few more weeks, but I have a previously recorded version of Legend of Madrid I can submit.

    It's rough, and has at least 2 major mistakes in it, but it's all I have.

      Player1 That sounds really frustrating, I remember you were making good progress on that Madrid piece and I was looking forward to hearing it. From what I remember it's quite a busy piece so mistakes could easily happen and perhaps they don't sound as bad as you think. If you're really not happy with it you could skip the recital and upload the piece when you're ready, don't feel pressured to submit for the sake of it.
      I hope you can return to playing sooner rather than later, take care of yourself P1.

          Aww a recital without P1 isn't the same... but I agree if you're truly unhappy with it, you can skip this one. Who knows you might get that perfect recording done between now and the 15th 😊 If you end up feeling any better that is!

            Player1 No pressure, but definitely submit it if that's what you've got! We're a friendly audience here and would love to hear more of your music. 🙂

            You can always share Take #2 later. I've done plenty of second takes myself.

            I don't have a recording yet either and I don't know if I'm even close... but I'll do my best to submit whatever I've got even if I'm last. I've come to appreciate the quarterly rhythm of these recitals. For me, drawing the line somewhere and just getting it done helps relieve the otherwise paralyzing stress of trying to strive for unattainable perfection.
