Nightowl rogerch ā€” Slow Steps
That was beautiful, melancholy and melodious. You are incredibly talented. I love your piano too, the colour of the wood is beautiful and it seems to have a very rich, mellow tone. After watching your performance I am full of envy and admiration, on so many levels.

Thanks @Nightowl! My piano thanks you too! šŸ™‚

I'm sorry you are full of envy though! If you enjoy playing the piano while learning new things, then you and I are in the same place in the ways that matter most. I think you're doing great and I hope that playing brings you joy!

rsl12 rogerch You had in mind to use minor subdominants? Your thinking about improvisation is getting more sophisticated. Glad to hear more of your progress!

Thanks @rs12! It's really fun to find sounds I like and incorporate them into improvisations!

Sophia rogerch ā€” Slow Steps

Roger šŸ˜ You know you are my living example to get to improvisation, right? But every time you set that bar higher because you are improving in strides šŸ˜ƒ Very nice and you are right, the chord is beautiful and fits well into the piece. Very impressive!

Thanks @Sophia! It really helped my piano playing that I took 14 months off from work. I've been back at work since August so my progress may slow down, but I'll take what I can get!

One can really tell, you are enjoying to improvise. It looks like a fish in the water. I've heard this style of impro already from you, last time it was good, this time it is good again. Just different, but still with your own signature.
I enjoyed to listen to the beautiful sound, the warmth, the harmony, you did very well changing between Major and minor, here and there (at least I believe, you did). You made a good mix between repeating the known melodies to please the listener and introducing new themes to keep in interesting. I'd call this well rounded improvisation again.
Well done, Roger, I bow to you in respect!

Thanks @WieWaldi! I absolutely enjoy improvising, it has been a great journey!

Gooseberry rogerch ā€” Slow Steps ā€“ I love the warmth and tenderness that emanates from your improvisation, and I admire how you can transfer the flow of your ideas into such beautiful music šŸ’—

Thanks for the nice feedback, @Gooseberry!

rogerch thank you for listening and for your kind words! šŸ™‚

Player1 You have auto play turned on. On the bottom of the screen there's a slide switch next to the settings gear icon. Set it to off. That way, when the video ends, it'll just stop and you can hit replay or click on the progress bar at the beginning.

I don't see a gear icon. Maybe you need a rumble account to have that ability. Oh well...

      rsl12

It's underneath the progress bar to the right of the play/pause button. Right there along with the change screen size stuff. Hover over the video and it should appear.

rogerch It really helped my piano playing that I took 14 months off from work.

Oohh cool, almost like being on Piaternity leave! šŸ¤£

        Sgisela rogerch ā€” Slow Steps
Iā€™m always very impressed with people who are able to improvise. This is really beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

        Thanks @Sgisela!

        Rob @rogerch
I always like to listen to your improvisations. Nearly everything I have ever composed has been born out of improv, as that is the first thing I do when I sit down to play.
I can hear several potentially complete pieces in your performance. Great stuff!

Thanks @Rob! Sometimes I'm tempted to take a snippet from one of my improvs and build a composition around it. I probably will at some point!

Sam - The Never Finished Piece - I really enjoyed that. Nothing wrong with 19th century. It's my favorite era for classical music and listening to your composition was like uncovering an undiscovered treasure from that era.

I also want to thank you for listening and commenting on my piece earlier.

Gooseberry - Pigalle - What a sweet, charming sounding piece. Your playing looked and sounded smooth and effortless and it amazed me that you could do it with the gloves. Good to know if I ever need them.

Also, thank you for listening and commenting on my piece.

@plop_symphony ā€” The Midnight Ball. That was a really fun piece, and you nailed it. I'm a big fan of dissonance, so I really appreciate this contribution. Thanks!
@ShiroKuro ā€” Reminiscence. Lovely piece, I'll need to look into that composer more. Good job!
@Sgisela ā€” Do Tebe (to you). Another gorgeous piece by yet another composer I'm not familiar with. I need to listen more broadly! I enjoyed your story about touching base with the pianist for sheet music, it's great to see such a friendly, helpful community. Kudos!

Home stretch, just a couple more to go ...

        Enthusiastic but mediocre amateur.

Sam rogerch ā€” Slow Steps - two improvs in one month! I actually liked the one at PW better, but this one is great too!

Thanks Sam! I do improvs every day but I don't record them all šŸ™‚

Sophia No, I'm not using the soft pedal (I wouldn't know how, heh). I just tried to play it as written

Now I'm even more impressed. You nailed it! Great job!

        @Rubens
Lovely. Glad you made the decision to share.

        Make a joyful noise...
Jane - expert on nothing with opinions on everything.

BicBic rogerch ā€” Slow Steps - sounded great, and a cool idea to improvise around a particular cadence.

Thanks @BicBic! It's helpful to introduce something new when improvising to avoid having the improvisations sound too much alike. šŸ™‚

TC3 @rogerchā€” Slow Steps. Love your improvisations, still don't know how you do that ... I was a bit confused about "minor fourth" until I realized it was what I know as a minor iv chord, then it made sense. šŸ™‚

Thanks @TC3! Honestly I'm not sure how I do it either! I have spent the last four years working on improvisation and it seems I have trained my subconscious mind to improvise but my conscious mind doesn't fully understand it. It's weird but I love it!

MarieJ rogerch ā€” Slow Steps. Lovely chord progressions - a gentle and melodious result. You should indeed be pleased with this!

Thanks for the nice feedback @MarieJ!
