javiercorre β€” Sonatas K. 208 and K. 380 – That was impressive - two lovely sonatas, very nicely played, and from memory. You’ve got this! Good luck with your recital/exam!

SalmonJack β€” Bliss Ten – I enjoyed very much this beautiful ride on your boat and listening to your composition, very refreshing, thank you!

rsl12 β€” I am the very model of a modern Major-General – Great playing and singing, very entertaining! And though it was a real challenge for my deficient knowledge of English, I realised I was still smiling long after your video finished.

Sgisela β€” Do Tebe (to you) – Hauntingly beautiful, your deeply emotional playing speaks to the heart of the listener. Now this music will stay with me forever.

ShiroKuro β€” Reminiscence – Wonderful playing, I loved it. Good luck in the concert, you’ll do great, I’m sure.

Pathbreaker β€” Larghetto – If this is a work in progress, I wonder how your finished work sounds, because to me it was already expertly played.

diretonic β€” Chega de Saudade (No More Blues) – Great arrangement, and fantastic playing.

Ok I think I’ve listened to all of the submissions, everything sounds wonderful! Now I need to come back and make some more individual comments. πŸ™‚

rogerch I love how you play 0:45 loud and 0:50 soft. Are you using the soft pedal at 0:50?

Thanks so much for your kind comments Roger! No, I'm not using the soft pedal (I wouldn't know how, heh). I just tried to play it as written,

First bar forte, second bar piano πŸ™‚

rsl12 If you learned this quickly, it must mean you're improving! I don't know the piece but there are no obvious wrong notes. It's unclear from your submission what kind of feedback you want so I'll leave it at that! When your performance was over, some political informercial started playing and I couldn't figure out how to get back to your performance. I had to reload the page to get out (which meant my message-editing box also cleared). If there's an easy way to get back to your video in that situation, let me know.

You have auto play turned on. On the bottom of the screen there's a slide switch next to the settings gear icon. Set it to off. That way, when the video ends, it'll just stop and you can hit replay or click on the progress bar at the beginning.

gRumble's default is to have it on because they make their money out of ads. I can't blame them, I'd do that too if I could.

Somehow I overlooked the feedback desired bit. Not that it matters, it's all good. That particular piece is early to mid beginner and I'm beyond that point now by a good bit. I just needed something at the last second and pulled that piece out of the hat. Even I didn't think it would take only 6 days (with 1 day off too!) to go from never playing it before to getting it recorded/submitted. It's not the best, but I made the submission deadline.

        javiercorre β€” Sonatas K. 208 and K. 380
Great performance! I think you will do well on your recital/exam! Your playing is confident and solid. I really like the way you shape the music with dynamics and very tasteful ritards. Thanks for your playing!

rogerch Thanks, that's kind of you to focus on the positive aspects, because my performance was quite stilted in places, but maybe it wasn't quite as bad as I thought. πŸ™‚

"Don't let's ask for the moon, we have the stars." (Final line from Now,Voyager, 1942)

iternabe β€” O mio babbino caro - Sounded very nice, not at all metronomic and very flowing, so whatever you did there worked well for me!

keff β€” Over the Rainbow - Nice arrangement and performance of this piece!

plop_symphony β€” The Midnight Ball - another cool piece from you! Played with a nice touch that captured the dance feel of the ball. How satisfying to tackle a piece that was too hard a year ago and smash it out in a week!

Schubertian2 β€” Ballade 4 - what an achievement to play a Chopin ballade so beautifully! Incredible, really enjoyed listening.

WieWaldi β€” Quick Five Blues - Very good, seems the blues lessons are going well!

Nightowl β€” What A Wonderful World - Congrats on your one year piano anniversary! I thought you played it well, my suggestion would be to play with more confidence knowing you can do it! Easier said than done with that pesky red button though!

Sophia β€” A Classy Rag - what a fun piece! Captured that rag feel really well!

rogerch β€” Slow Steps - sounded great, and a cool idea to improvise around a particular cadence.

thepianoplayer416 β€” When You Wish Upon a Star - beautiful! Always great to return to a piece and play it better or up to tempo too.

Sam β€” The Never Finished Piece - enjoyed it just as much second time round!

MarieJ β€” Waltz in F minor - What a lovely piece! It didn’t sound particularly β€˜in progress’ to me! And as always a beautiful video to go with it.

Player1 β€” Ashokan Farewell - Sounded good - you sounded very comfortable playing this!

TC3 Worried Life Blues - Great job on that! Not only can you sing and play at the same time, but you do both of them really well. The piano part sounds way beyond basic to me.

Thank you for comments earlier on my performance of "God Bless the Child". I continue to play it and as I get more comfortable with it, I'm able get the rhythm looser.

Nightowl - What a Wonderful World - Happy pianoversary! How nice to be able to play an arrangement of that great Louis Armstrong tune during your first year.

Thank you for your earlier kind remarks on my performance.

Sophia - A Classy Rag - A classy performance and after less than a year of playing. You are so wise to get it smooth before working on tempo. I tend to get obsessed with tempo too early in the game and live to regret it when I try to smooth it out afterwards.

Thank you for listening to my performance earlier and your kind remarks.

WieWaldi - Quick Five Blues - Nice laid back blues piece. Lots of cool blues licks in there. I especially admired that tremolo.

Thank you for listening to my piace earlier and your kind remarks.

@Cratersmashβ€” Sonata No. 3. Another advanced piece, far beyond me. Prokofiev is a great change of pace from the usual baroque and classical pieces. Thanks very much for sharing!
@diretonic β€” Chega de Saudade (No More Blues). Some lovely jazz, we need more of that around here, thanks! Jobim's tunes are great, and this one is a nice departure from the usual "Girl from Ipanema." Hope your arthritis is better these days!
@rogerchβ€” Slow Steps. Love your improvisations, still don't know how you do that ... I was a bit confused about "minor fourth" until I realized it was what I know as a minor iv chord, then it made sense. πŸ™‚

          Enthusiastic but mediocre amateur.

iternabe β€” O mio babbino caro. I’d say you’re definitely making the right choice here - your performance sings, as it should. Sweet!
