navindra I was also thinking of posting to /r/piano about Recital #2. However I haven't figured out that place and I always get downvoted to oblivion (if my posts aren't immediately deleted by bots), so it's not likely to be effective.

I'm happy to post an announcement there tomorrow morning if you like. My username might get a little recognition (though just a little).

I am going to use my Samson C01U microphone placed close to the output from the sound board together with GarageBand. Because I live in a small apartment with wall which are not damped I get a lot of echoes and mushy reverberation if I do anything else. So that produces an mp3 audio file. I'd like to upload that to YouTube but snazz it up with some images in a video format but I don't know if Youtube gives you any tools to do that. If not, I'll just upload an audio file

Schubertian2 If your Samson mic is recording to a computer, you may consider install OBS Studio. It’s free. It can combine various audio and video recording together in real time. For video you can use a webcam or even phone if it can act as webcam.

depends how much time it takes to get a decent recording - I might be recording up until the last minute on this one

        navindra unstickied the discussion .
navindra changed the title to PianoTell Recital #2 Updates .

navindra It looks like my announcement post on r/piano is taking off reasonably well.

For r/piano, 7 upvotes in two hours is pretty good!

I’m in! I have been away or very busy for most of October… very little piano… and I still haven’t finished my listening and comments from the last PW themed recital. BUT! I pledge to record something, none of my current pieces are ready but will try something from a couple of months ago!

Recital #2 is off to a nice start!

I haven't had any sneak peaks of anything, but I'm already super intrigued by at least one of these submissions!

I haven't been around for a while, and didn't realise that there was to be a November recital until today.
Sadly, I have nothing new that would be suitable, due to using non-piano VSTs, but it is great to see that there are already 10 participants!
I look forward to listening to you all

            Rob

You still have 13 days to record something and submit it.

I'm almost at the point where I can make my 1st recording of the piece I'm working on. It's going to be close!

Currently, there is only 1 piece a duplicate in both forums, the rest is entirely different. Some posted different pieces in both forums and one of them seems to be "recycled" from a previous recital. But I am not sure about this recycling thing, as this piece wasn't finished last time, and we could probably hear a newer version.

Player1 I'm almost at the point where I can make my 1st recording of the piece I'm working on. It's going to be close!

It’s funny, I took a chapter out of your book because last time you had your piece recorded several weeks in advance. I was cutting it fine and worried whether I would have something ready in time. This round it seems we are reversed - I know how you feel πŸ˜‹

I tried to record my piece earlier today, it was going really well but then I made a really bad slip near the end😭. So frustrating, I know I'll get a good recording eventually though.

Welcome @Cratersmash πŸ™‚ And yes, I can relate to that too. In fact I posted just the other day how I had recorded a piece and then found out I never pushed the record button... or, as you said. It never fails that if a bad slip happens, it invariably happens in the last few seconds 😝
