javiercorre welcome to PT!!

It looks like this will be another talent packed recital, with 20 submissions so far.
I had a quick look at the recital thread on the PW forum, and they also have 20 submissions. However, their forum membership is well over 110,000 whilst there are just 259 members here, so this forum is punching well above its weight when you consider those numbers!
This is impressive, and might be even more so if (when?) some last minute submissions push PT into the lead!

Hahaha I had the exact same thought, Nightowl! I am really looking forward to it, there are so many styles and interesting choices in this recital that I just can't wait

Iβm uploading yesterdayβs recording to YouTube right nowβ¦.
I'm in! Whew!!
BTW I have totally changed my mind/approach/feeling about participating in online recitals.... After all these years!
In the past, if my piece wasn't ready, I would sit the recital out. So although I participated in a lot of ABF recitals at PW, there were many more of them where I didn't participate.
Now I feel like these external deadlines are really beneficial, so I've decided I'm going to submit whatever my piece is even if it's not perfect. And this submission is definitely one of those!
Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing everyone else's recordings!
Schubertian2 I love this last minute dash to the finish line that you and ShiroKuro are making - this is brilliant! I think there is possibly going to be a last minute submission to the other forum as well, but this forum looks likely to have the winning total. It goes without saying that quality is more important than quantity, but looking at the list of participants on this forum I feel certain that we will have plenty of both.
navindra You are the hero of the hour, waiting for the last few warriors to make it across the moat before pulling up the drawbridge!

ShiroKuro Well done! I'm sure your piece will be very enjoyable to listen to and you are probably being hypercritical of tiny mistakes which others might not even notice. My own piece is very much a beginner's piece and the usual slow tempo that I favour, because my fingers aren't built for speed. I did have a faster piece in mind but I need another few months days to get it up to speed.

No don't bother waiting - I'm not going to submit another recording - maybe next recital
The count's not over until the count is over and ABF is just as likely to pull ahead.
Here's the latest count.

I'm mildly panicking here! I have a draft cut of my video and I think I also have a decent audio track now (thanks to that precious mastering tip from Sam!), so I'll definitely get this done even if I have to cut some corners.
Here's to hoping we get some surprise submissions!

I have a busy schedule and I go out of town frequently. The last few years I wouldn't push myself to practice a piece in order to get a recording before an online recital deadline. I'd submit something I'm working that will be ready at least 3 days before the deadline. Otherwise keep working on it and record for the next recital.
It's not a contest between PW and PT - The more people that participate, wherever they are, the better!
Sam
Is #2 now closed for submissions?
It doesn't seem to be! Go for it!
Sam True, but it's interesting to compare numbers between the two forums and my post was a way of giving credit to Nav for his achievement in establishing this new forum.
Sam, you have put a lot of work and effort into running the recitals for the PW forum for many years, that shows real commitment and community spirit. I think that Nav has similar qualities, and I appreciate the work that both of you do to enable beginners like me to participate in the online recitals. Thank you.
