Do you really want to miss out on PianoTell's 1st recital? πŸ›Œ

I might just be lazy and upload a recording of one of my performances from WIPAC this weekend...

"You're a smart kid. But your playing is terribly dull."

    Everybody here have busy lives. Not everybody here is retired with a lot of free time. We just practice whenever we have time.

    The last piece I submitted made me realized how challenging it was to master something that is barely half a minute long in 1 page. Even after making recording 1, felt something wasn't right and made recording 2. A number of years ago I saw kids struggled to read through a 1-page piece. I'm sure they put in a lot of effort.

    Can't wait to hear the other performers.

    Good to see so many members participating.
    I look forward to listening to this first PT recital. πŸ™‚

    Wait, sorry for asking a stupid question (I’m sure the answer is here somewhere so apologies in advance).

    @navindra How do we submit?

    I see the template and I get that we’re to use some external hosting (e.g., YouTube etc). So, once we have the audio (or video) hosted and the template filled out, do we just reply in the thread you linked at the top? And if so, am I right in assuming that the replies are some how hidden until you release them?

    Thank you in advance!

      TC3 Shouldn't the -girls see it as well?

      • TC3 replied to this.

        WieWaldi Sorry, I'm not following you.

        Enthusiastic but mediocre amateur.

          @navindra & @TC3 thank you!!

          Ok, I may not have a good recording but I will upload a practice recording if nothing else! Definitely don't want to miss the first PT recital!!!

          TC3 Sophia and Pallas are the recital coordinators and this purple hiking icon is the badge:

            After submitting, it reads a bit strange if I note down my own name. Unlike PW where every submission is published by "AB Forum Recital"-user, we are posting with our own user account, having the name+avatar already included.
            I suggest to do a gentle re-work of the template in about two weeks, when this recital is finished and all impressions have settled down.

              Pallas sorry to read about it, I must have missed this.

              Welcome back to the Gold-Star club. Anyway, our icon looks much more lighthearted than walking around with a heavy backpack and the need for a supporting stick. πŸ˜‰

              Absolutely! That's the goal, things are going to be rocky at the beginning.

              As I've been readying this recital, fixing up links and such, I had a chance to listen to one or two of the pieces. It feels like cheating but it's really just part of the job. And Oh My... Some of the pieces I accidentally listened to are so so good and the note on one of them is just so humble at the same time.

              Will we get to an even 20?

                I was too busy to submit anything in the previous PW recital, but this time I'm sharing a really exciting piece. It's good to be back!

                Sorry if it's already been asked before, but is there going to be playlist (in audio format) with all the performances, or will we need to play each recording separately?

                  Calavera No audio playlist is currently supported. I could make a YouTube playlist and interleave it with the other non-YouTube submissions.

                  But I have a feeling it might also be kind of nice experience to play a video while scrolling through and reading. It's different from the Piano World experience but it may just work. Let's see how it goes.

                    navindra Got it!

                    It looks like most people who are participitating here have also submitted their recordings to PW anyway. Since Sam usually provides an audio playlist and zipped MP3 files on PW, it's probably not necessary to do the same here.

                    That means I'll be able to listen to your performances while I'm, say, working or washing the dishes. I hope you guys' recordings make for decent washing-up soundtracks!
