Josephine you don't have to have watched any of the series to watch any of the others πŸ™‚

The Queen Charlotte one is great and very worth watching though. That one and Season 3 are my favorites.

Pallas must mention that wig in Season 3. You'll know when you see it πŸ˜‚

My friend who knows a lot about historical clothing trends says it was a real style of wig, just 40 years off!!

ShiroKuro Anyway, the character Francesca has become quite the pianist.

Was anyone else like "that's totally not the sound of the piano she is playing!"?? πŸ˜‚

twocats Yes, it was!! I was feeling a little sheepish about admitting to being a fan, but I'm over that now! πŸ˜„

Josephine I have seen season 1 and 2,but I didn't watch the queen Charlotte series. Do you have to watch it to understand season 3?

Nope, you don't need to watch the Queen Charlotte one to be able to follow season 3. But that one is good too.... it's kind of hard to watch, IMO, in that it's distressing in some ways that the regular shows are not. Just my opinion anyway.

You could easily watch Season 3 and then watch Queen Charlotte afterwards. If you are a casual viewer, just watch season 3. If you're a big fan, watch Queen Charlotte (before or after season 3)

      Again, just my opinion! πŸ™‚

twocats Was anyone else like "that's totally not the sound of the piano she is playing!"??

        Oh yeah, definitely!!! πŸ˜†

twocats My friend who knows a lot about historical clothing trends says it was a real style of wig, just 40 years off!!

Oh wow, really? I mean, that it was authentic, just a few years off. I sort of wondered if it was an exaggeration or not.

You gotta love all the totally over the top costumes etc! ETA: esp Cresseda's shoulder/sleeve thingies!!!

        ShiroKuro

Okay, I'm going to watch both but I'll start with season 3 because I'm curious about the piano that sounds like a different piano and the wig πŸ™‚

Yay, more people to talk about it with!

Mr. SK does not share my interest.... πŸ˜…

        Pallas

We also have seperate and together shows. I really like Scandinavian thrillers and he doesn't. We also just watched Outer range by the way, really enjoyed it.

Josephine We also have seperate and together shows.

We do, too! I watch the silly fluffy stuff and also the really dark stuff and science fiction/fantasy. He likes more light-hearted shows or spy thrillers.

If we find something we both want to watch it has to go on a special list πŸ˜‚

            twocats

Maybe 'Kleo' is a good together series for you, it's dark, weird, funny, and also a spy thriller. It's German. German series are often a bit weird.

Josephine we watched Kleo! We're currently on Lupin, which is so great. Also at some point we need to finish The Crown but it takes a certain mood to watch that.

I haven't watched any of those (Kleo, Lupin, the Crown) and the Crown is the only title I recognize. Mr. SK is Japanese, and when we watch TV together, it's usually Japanese shows. And I don't watch that much TV on my own, because usually I try to be playing the piano if I have time for solo tv watching.
But it's summer and I have a little more time at the moment. So... πŸ™‚

My wife and I have watched Bridgerton a few times; it's quite a silly soap opera confection with all sorts of historical inaccuracies! But amusing. The actor playing Francesca is clearly not playing the piano for the soundtrack. The sound of the instrument is also wrong, as it sounds like a modern instrument, and the instrument pictured is supposed to look like it's from the early 19th century. The string players in the quartet or other musicians pictured are also not playing music for the soundtrack itself. They may or may not actually be musicians. I've often wondered if the actors don't have to speak, why not use real musicians? I think it has to do with the way they film sequences within a scene, the choreography, the sound recording and editing, etc.
Easier to add it later, I guess.

Most likely. Still, I enjoy Francesca's storyline and the role the piano plays in it. I hope there's more to that detail in the second half of season 3!

ShiroKuro I am totally with you on this! I am a big fan of "Bridgerton" and enjoy watching all of it! The second half of this season drops today. I also am enjoying Francesca's story line. I'm hoping she goes off to perform! Let's see what happens!

                  Without music, no life!

Oh no, when am I going to have time to watch? I am trying to prioritize sleep!! πŸ˜‚

The trailer for the second half promised so much juicy drama!!

We just moved and I spent all day unpacking boxes, so I haven’t watched yet. Soon!!!

I watched halfway through Ep.7 yesterday. I should have gone to bed earlier. But this season is so juicy and definitely the best one.

This time I noticed the violinists and how utterly fake they are! πŸ˜‚

Also am I mistaken or was that choral music right before the wedding from Mozart's Requiem? 😳
