@Nightowl That's one very spiffy looking piano... and as you said, such a huge step up from your little Casio! Who knows, one day your dream of an acoustic may come true. Meanwhile, don't think I'm not jealous because every single Alfredo has a better and/or newer piano than I do now 🙂
As for your question, yes, it does have a sliding cover, but the piano has always been somewhat of an ornament so we always kept it open. Even now! However my husband has had it apart a few times to clean the innards thoroughly. Also he changed the transformer when he moved from the UK to Canada because of the 110V here. Most recently he performed some magic with the pedals so that they aren't quite as loud as they were when I first started using them. It's not been thoroughly neglected all these years, just didn't get played 🙂
TC that's a lovely setup you have! The wall colours are so tasteful and pleasant - and so are the instruments. I just noticed I never remarked on your white piano - but @Nightowl will attest that I did so behind your back because when she was looking for a piano that would have to look good, I told her that yours is quite striking 😃 Your wife is quite the drummer! (I watched your latest video just now).
