(At least through the mobile interface, although desktop should be similar...)
Click on Profile
--> Click on Settings
--> Click on Settings at the top of the page and a menu will show up with various options, including "Signature"
If you want to include a link in your signature, use this syntax:
1999 Bösendorfer 225
There are two ways to do this, depending on your situation.
1) Upload Photo
If you have a photo to upload (e.g. you took a photo with your phone camera and wish to share it), click this button and your image will be uploaded to imgur and displayed here:
2) Share Photo Stored Online
If your file is on the web already and you have a link to it, click here:
And then replace the "https://" text within the parentheses with the URL to your image:
The syntax from PW also works! I was able to easily paste a series of photos from an old PW post that looks like this:
If you're on mobile, your mobile keyboard should have options. But there's an easy way to access built-in forum emojis if you're not on mobile. They are in format :emoji: so type ":face" and all sorts of face options show up in a drop-down! Or just type ":" and then a keyword to find whatever other emojis you're looking for.
From @Jane: On a Windows computer, hold the Windows key and type the period. Then from the popup window, select an emoji (type to search if what you want isn't visible).
Also apparently the Globe key on Mac will bring up emojis!
Emojis on Mac
In addition to use the ":" character for forum emojis, the system emojis on the Mac are accessible by typing a word such as "smile" and then press fn-E to get a list of emojis to pick from. Double click on the emoji you want from the list.
To put spoilers under a cut or for lengthy posts where people may not want to see all the details unless they're interested, highlight the text you want to be hidden and then click this button:
You'll get a "Details" cut like this for multiple paragraphs:
Or a clickable black box like this for text within a single paragraph.
Update: I figured out how the code differentiates a black box vs Details cut. The first example below results in a Details cut and the second example will display a black box. So you can just remove the two trailing "!<" characters if you want to get "Details".
This is very helpful, Twocats.
Any tips for dealing with the notifications? Is there a way to clear individual ones? I was kind of expecting that some would be automatically cleared when I viewed the post, but this doesn’t seem to happen. I now have a long notification list, and I’m kind of afraid to clear the whole thing.
Sgisela hmmmm it looks like they get cleared when I click on them, but there's no swipe or other option. I just disabled being notified of likes for my account as I think it'll keep the notifications less cluttered. But it doesn't answer your question.
@navindra can you see if there's a plugin or option to swipe away individual notifications?
twocats Is the check mark what you're looking for?:

twocats I just tested it on my phone. First quickly touch the right side so that you see the checkmark. Now quickly touch the checkmark to dismiss it.
I agree, it's not the most intuitive thing.

Any tips on how to embed a YouTube video? I put an embeded video in the recordings section, and it works, but I can't seem to figure out how to hide the embed html.
@PianoMonk I think the forum software is smart enough that you just need to post the link itself. I did so earlier and was surprised that it came out fully embedded
