Well, I joined here, I think it would be great if the same kind of vibe that’s at PW could be found here. Who else from PW is here?

candela Someone was logged in on the platuser admin account this Monday according to the profile page. So it looks like they are aware but choose not to act now.

Thank you for pointing that out! I will give them some grace and assume that they are busy at work and have other priorities (or perhaps have to discuss a strategy before responding), but if we don't hear any response by the end of the work week I'll post to the other subforums.

Edit: I also took a screenshot of the user account to show that they did log in on Sunday.

Hello, will you count me as a PW nomad?

I landed on PW a bunch the past two weeks while researching my new piano purchase. Then ended up reading the whole thread about this site, so I feel like I know you all, even though you don't know me. 🙂

FWIW, I am based in Northern Ohio. I have played piano for 35+ years, and I've owned / led a marketing / web agency for almost 20. I was going to chime in about the Google visibility, but it looks like @FrankCox already answered that in another thread.

So I'll share this [unsolicited] input instead...

Glad to hear that @navindra is staying put with the name -- I like it.
Hyphenated domains are the worst
And never buy a .org or dot-whatever if you can't also get the .com

I will probably be a little sporadic with my participation, but @navindra, if you need any assistance, don't hesitate to reach out via email or DM and I will be happy to help with some any advice you might need to help get traction for your new website -- but it looks like this is off to a strong start!

Just wanted to chat about pianos with other enthusiasts? Whatever the reason, if you’re up for it, consider starting a new thread with whatever is on your mind.

jeremy hi, welcome! It took me 9 years of lurking to finally start participating on PW but if you ever want to talk pianos or playing, this promises to be a great place to do it 🙂

By the way, I just set up a new YouTube channel where I can post works-in-progress (don't want to clutter up my main account) and in the description included "Find me at forum.pianotell.com". Maybe it'll help if people end up enjoying my videos. I never felt comfortable posting much of my playing over at PW but it's a new start here!

I know it's too late, but PianoFort.com might have been a good name. A fort is kind of a haven.

Sgisela thank you! I landed on PW while doing research to buy a new piano.

I have owned a Yamaha U1 for 20 years. Just last night we purchased a new Kawai K800 53" upright!! I couldn't convince my wife we had space for grand / baby grand, so this was a pretty solid compromise. But in my research, I landed on a few posts about Kawai pianos, which led me down a looong rabbit hole to reading all about the history of PW, and the current struggles. Which led me here.

Maybe I'll start a new thread after my new piano gets delivered next week.

Yes, there's a signature field that can be a little hard to find! Oh you just reminded me that I should add the link syntax to the how-to post.

Here's a link to my very sparse YouTube channel. There are other videos on there, but chamber music with my name and face and those of the other performers, so those videos are private. I just created this new YouTube channel where I can post works-in-progress 🙂

Congratulations! 🎉🎊🍾 I’ve never had the opportunity to play a K800, but by all accounts they’re fantastic instruments! I love new and new-to-you piano stories (and photos). Would definitely love to see pics once it’s delivered, and also hear about how you adjust to each other!

I've played a K800. That's a nice big sound with a robust bass! I would love to see a photo of your piano when you get it settled @jeremy

Pallas I'm hoping it's not too big of a sound - I intend to put it where my U1 lives currently, on hardwood maple floors. But I figured I can always put a rug under it if it's too much.

I will post photos once it's delivered!
