I will be disappointed if PW fails! I don't see the obnoxious ads but I have noticed less traffic there. Thanks for setting this up navindra in case we need this new home!

I hope PW admins are keeping an eye on traffic and willing to reconsider the degree of ad intrusiveness, as I too would be sad to see that forum die.

Thanks @navindra for setting this up. I'll be curious to see what kind of feel this forum takes on. Hopefully the tone and content remain similar to PW. After visiting PianoClack a few times, I can understand why it would be a turnoff for some.

Yes, indeed. Right now P|T is on managed hosting courtesy of FreeFlarum. FreeFlarum does occasionally have issues and if the forum grows, I will definitely have to move it.

ShiroKuro definitely! I am appreciating a modern forum. It's blazingly fast (though it could slow down if it gets really popular), you can upload photos easily, and quoting is a breeze (highlight and click "quote", if you're on mobile highlight by holding your finger on the text for a few seconds).

The only issue I have with this forum (so far) is that it somehow loses or corrupts my password.

Every time I try to log in (and I mean every single time) it tells me that my password is incorrect and I have go through the "reset your password" routine to log in again.

Is anyone else seeing this, or is it just that this forum software hates me? 🙂

Oh wow, that's a problem!

Do you happen to use a password manager or something? Is it possible that the password manager is not updating the password and using the old one instead?

This has been noticed both on pianoclack and pianotell. If I'm using my mobile/cell-phone, I encounter the occasional red coloured banner thing that says something along the lines of can't carry out function, or wrong password. But a web-page 'refresh' would sort it. That is - for me, after a page refresh, and then login again using the usual username and password would sort it. It may well be a flarum or cookies thing that they haven't yet sorted out.

Weird, I haven't experienced that. And I'm using P | T on... three different devices I think.

I just keep resetting the password to the same password that I used before, and that seems to be good for one login when I do it; after that I get the big ol' boot when I try to log in the next time.

I just have the password saved in the default Firefox password saving thing that seems to work for every other website so I have no idea what the problem could be.

I do, however have a cookie-deleting function on my web browser that deletes cookies from websites that aren't on the whitelist, so I just added this forum to that whitelist and will see what happens now.

Oh well. I can make it work by resetting the password so it's not a huge problem anyway.

Agreed. I think there needs to be something here to engage people beyond just the (very welcomed) technological improvements in the forum. Otherwise, people will probably just continue to post at PW where there's more traffic, more industry experts, and a lot more collective experience/wisdom.
