@JustinVG and @rsl12 I wasn't thinking about the sheet music issue, but for the post-classical recital, most likely whoever gets chosen as the composer is going to be someone who is either still living, or whose copyright is still in force (Winston and Sakamoto both passed away three years ago, I'm pretty sure all the other relevant composers are still living).
So although there probably are free sheets floating around online in some places, it's likely that those sheets are actually copyright violations. I don't know how arrangements (not just transcriptions) are handled, that's probably more of a gray area.
Anyway, perhaps we can include a disclaimer or something, when linking to official scores that they do need to be purchased. ETA: which is to say, I hope that we won't link to any scores that are obviously in copyright violation.
Then if a specific member finds that to be a barrier to participation, we can.... cross that bridge when we come to it???? 😅
