Sophia Thanks so much, Sofia! Don't worry, I learn every day, sometimes just a little, hahaha. The great thing about sharing is, one, you receive things you don't see or hear alone, and two, you meet people who like our world, and you discover new music. Everyone brings music, regardless of the level. The important thing is that it's real. And I found out about the recital yesterday. I uploaded one that wasn't very well recorded, but for me it has a significant emotional impact, and I like it. This is "different," hahaha. I don't know if that's good or bad. Once the recital is over, do we have to play live or something?

rogerch Thank you so much, I'm so glad you like them. I was actually embarrassed to upload them; I composed them for myself; they were like a refuge when I was having a bad day. Some students played them and asked me to post a sample on YouTube for their studies... and a few months ago I started uploading them... what a job!! Hahaha!

Thank goodness, no! The piece you submitted for your recital is all that's needed. Navindra will make them all "live" (as in, visible) in a single day, so it's almost as if we're having a live performance day. But everything is done in advance, and of course you can listen to all the performers at your leisure - no need to go through the whole list all at once 🙂

I had the same thought (re anime).

But @AlbertAndreu I have to confess, I didn’t like the video! (Sorry!!) the eye lashes at the beginning were … let’s just hard to watch.
I found I liked the music better when I just listened without the video.

rsl12 I swear I get told a lot that my music is very anime-like. Is it because I watch too much? I've always listened to Sakamoto a lot, and I still have some of his influences.

Here's the real question: how many sharps or flats in Clean? Which of your compositions have four or fewer?

ShiroKuro hahaha Clean has 6 flats, hahaha I don't know why I go to those tones. One with a flat is Reborn, it's in a false F major, ...and if we talk about difficulty, Storm!!! that one is difficult difficult difficult, it's hard for me to play it clean. Resilience a sharp in E minor. And The Lovers is a medium level in A major.

Isn’t Resilience the one with the repeating pattern throughout? That one might be in an “easier” key but is maybe one of your more difficult pieces! (If I’m remembering right)

I need to make my peace with those other keys. When it’s five or more, I actually do better with sharps than flats, for some reason. Maybe I just don’t like reading down (as in, Gb Cb)… somehow E# and B # are easier to read than Gb and Cb…

I know, it does make any sense.

no no, the difficult one is Storm, Resilience, it requires a wide hand but it is fixed with small variation movements. I always recommend not to be afraid of flats, you just have to get used to it, the most difficult is the key C flat which is always treacherous. But play with the chords. Always simplify, you don't have to play everything in the score. In difficult pieces, play the harmony with the closed chord, which is used and melody in right hand, as if you have to play it in triad, it doesn't matter. And when it comes out, you add elements that are avoided. But there's no difficulty that can destroy the illusion of playing a piece. The difficult thing is to play a piece without illusion.
