WieWaldi The orange tabby was my first one, modeled with a combination of our two cats. Since they sleep most of the time, I went with that. Wasn't sure how hard it would be to draw the eyes with wood stain. For the other two, along with ebony wood stain, I used some acrylic paint, which allowed me more control to do eyes and features. They all have a polyurethane clear coat. The middle one was my second build (and the one I play most often). For the third one (on the left), I wanted a different sound and feel, so I made a tailpiece from maple and cut down a rosewood bridge that was designed for an arch top hollow body. That body is mahogany. I built a fourth guitar last year, this one:
per the request, and donated it for a charity fund raiser to KittenAngles.org. I keep thinking I'll build another one, but I have too many projects going on. And three guitars are probably enough for me, for a while anyway.
Glad you like the "Tele-Cat-Sters".
