I follow Tiffany Poon on facebook, and I just got a friend request from a Tiffany Poon impersonator.
I sent her a message and she asked me to help reporting this impersonator - which I of course did.
Maybe some of you also follow her, and got this request. Please report this account to facebook!

Also if you did not get a friend request, you can still find the facebook account and report it. This is how it looks:

There were a glut of these on YouTube last year. Seems like every 6 to 12 months there is a new at-scale fraud meta, whether it is comment phishing, account impersonation, Google Drive invite spamming, or something else. Always have your guard up.

Paul Barton devoted a YouTube video that addressed something kind of similar:

I've had Elton John, Brian May, Gus Chalmers (songwriter for pop bands in the UK), Valentina Lisitsa and others all try to scam me. Well - not them, but fake accounts in their names. I never accept their requests unless I know for a fact it's them and we've actually met.

    Plot twist— those are the REAL accounts, and now those celebrity artists feel despondent and worthless, for they received no response from THE @Joseph-Fleetwood ! 🙂

      I'm sure Elton is crying himself to sleep as we speak.
