I think with sufficient acoustic treatment (rugs/carpet, soft things, bookshelves, +/- acoustic panels) and appropriate voicing, any space can be made to work. Our case is helped by the fact that the Bluthner has an inherently softer, more delicate sound.

It was manufactured in 2002 and used professionally for teaching and performances. PianoCraft sold the piano when it was new and has kept it in performing condition throughout its life, with action work "appropriate for its age" (not sure exactly what parts were replaced over this time period). Before being sold to me, they put in new hammers and did some minor cosmetic restoration, touching up the case, legs, lid, and castors.
