Taushi I don’t understand the vitriol.
Thank you for clarifying your position. I do appreciate it, as it's important to me that I understand you. I'm new to both piano and piano social media, and I'm often surprised and a little intimidated by the anger in some exchanges. It's important, I think, for all of us to keep in mind that words on a page don't adequately convey tone and therefore many misunderstandings and misreadings unfortunately happen.
I don't know a lot about pianos. I'm here to learn. But I do know a lot about people and feelings, and when I see someone's feelings have been hurt, I want to help, because having a healthy, inclusive and welcoming community is very important to me. I can see that you put a lot of time and effort into the information you share here, and I'm truly grateful for that, and I enjoy reading it. I've taken the time to read your opinions carefully, and I do see that you are, in fact, working very hard to be objective and fair-minded.
People's feelings and needs are idiosyncratic and subjective, sometimes confusing and frustrating. We are funny creatures. Sometimes the growling gets to me, and I want to spray everybody with a hose to get things to simmer down, but I think it's worth letting things go to keep the peace if that means I get to keep enjoying piano talk with my morning coffee every day.
