Beginners blues/boogie/rock discussion
Welcome to the Total BeginnerTM grade. Har Har Har!
Don't worry if this wasn't as perfect as the other ones, but with those two cute kittens it is for sure hard to stay focused. Btw: is it just my impression, the kittens became cats now, they grew a lot and look way stronger and heavier than in your earlier videos.
Back to the music - I always enjoy those lookback tuesdays. Not that long ago I played exactly the same lesson than you today, and mine wasn't that smooth, too. It is so nice to have a fellow total beginner on my side. 
In another thread I stated my wish for this year is to reach the early beginner grade. A bit unrealistic, I know. Then I added I would be happy to become an absolute beginner in 2025. Now my only wish is to reach the absolute beginner grade before you do.
Anyway - have fun with the Easy Blues Piano course!!! And congrats to your new grade. It sounds so much more pro when you tell people, you are a total beginner instead of a bloody beginner. ^_^
Haha I updated my avatar to show off my total beginner status. Simba in the circle, Lionel and Sandy in the profile background. You are right - I must refer to them as grown men now, or maybe teenagers. They are no longer kittens... still behave as such though!
I decided to take a break from piano for today (this morning's recording still counts for PACT) and then start the Easy course with a fresh mind 
U know. Lionel and Sandy are both men. Of course they behave like kids. Only the toys get bigger.

I have made a playlist of all the lessons in the Bloody Beginners course, some acceptable and some not so great dreadful. I don't miss the plonke-plonke-plonke-plonke of those first lessons!

Nice playlist! You could do a one-video cut like iternabe did on his 1st year. Well - this isn't practice time, but you will learn a lot about DaVinci Resolve. You can add at the end all bloopers, kitten disturbings, and of coarse your $§%&/ comments.
AAAAAnd - you will deep dive into every lesson you learned, remembering it better than just having a playlist

Lesson 3 got as many thumbs up as all the other clips together...
I rewatched it three times and I have no idea, why? Your playing was much better in the later vids. 
I know, right? Quite humbling when your pets get more likes than your performance. I can absolutely recommend cats to keep both feet firmly on the ground. I may have large hands, but my feet still fit inside my boots very easily

I love the updated avatar pic, although each time I look at it I have the urge to rotate it so that the eyes are horizontal (because I'm the type who notices crooked pictures when I enter a room and feel compelled to straighten them).
I'm confused, when will my status change from bloody beginner to total beginner? Would finishing Alfred's book 2 satisfy the criteria?

I may help out, here. You start as a Bloody BeginnerTM (Har har). Every time you finish a major achievement, a milestone, you graduate to the next level. Finishing a book like Alfred 1 is such an achievment. This means, you are officially a:
Bloody
Total BeginnerTM
(Absolute Beginner is next, after you finished Alfred 2)
tl;dr: you are at same level as Sophie!!

Ah, I'm very glad you realized the error of your ways - don't let it happen again The level scale is one WieWaldi created and you need not worry - it only applies to the blues course. You are a bloody beginner because you haven't finished the 16 lesson course yet..... so is iternabe. I just finished it and upgraded myself to total beginner. I'm sure WieWaldi can provide the whole list of levels... and once we reach all the way to "eternal beginner", we can continue being a bloody starter. Or bloody novice. Or bloody something (never bloody intermediate though, that is for Serious Students)

Roger, TC and Bart - to name a few - never took this Blues course and they never finished it. Are they bloody beginners because of that?!? Come on.
You graduate whenever you finished a milestone. A book. A course. A chopin etude. Whatever you call a milestone. But a method-book and a YouTube-playlist-course definitely count.

Haha ok ok! I surrender... again. But all those people that you mentioned... I believe we might even refer to them as Intermediate... maybe even... gasp! Advanced?! 
Sophia Exactly. Advanced... for sure advanced. Or a professional intermediate, if you want. And none of them attended our beloved Blues Piano for Beginners course. You can't claim Blues piano is the only way to step up that career ladder. There are many career ladders out there, or staircases. Some prefer to take the lift. Or a turbo lift if they are annoyingly talented and learn at supersonic speed.
Oooh, the Easy Blues course starts with one of my favourite tunes. Hit the Road Jack - move over, Ray Charles! Here I come!
I've seen Ray live, Nov 17th 2001. It was in a small townhall, probably 200 guests and I was about 20 meter away from him. But I doubt he had seen me 
Most impressive on that show wasn't Ray himself, the show was on his last days an as old man. It was his foregroup and accompaniment: three black rnb singer ladies in their best age with amazing voices. Similar to the accampaniment ladies of this video. Except, they weren't in black and white and voices were much more present. Although the dresses had a very similar cut, but silver instread of grey.
Ray himself wasn't that long on stage, the ladies made the evening. And it was a wonderful evening!

My husband told me (many times) how he visited Louis Armstrong live when he was young. Same, on his last days as an old man and in a small setting. He was lucky to have the best seat in the house and experienced the full charm first hand. Now I'm jealous of both of you

Well said WieWie! Sometimes I feel like a tortoise as I struggle to climb a single rung of the ladder, but then I remember the fable about the tortoise and the hare and feel slightly better. (Although I don't think the hare was moving at supersonic speed. Sigh.)
