When I go to the home page (on my phone) there is often an arrow in the left top corner, and when I want to log out I first have to refresh the page to make those 3 lines appear. So I refresh the page by clicking the icon for refreshing a page in my browser (Firefox). And often it works, but sometimes I go back to the previous page instead.

    Maybe it's Firefox, and not this forum? I also have some problems with other websites when I use Firefox.

    twocats Also apparently the Globe key on Mac will bring up emojis!

    My Mac keyboard does not have a Globe key. If I click on FN, nothing happens. If I click on emojis, I get this:

    Any tips on how to get emojis?

      You can try typing ":" and then a word after it to find emojis. The search doesn't work like you would think all the time. Typing ":happy" returns nothing.

      Thank you @bSharp!

        from my laptop, I have had some luck with searching for emoji by keywords. Other times I go over to FB, find the one I want and copy it. πŸ˜…

        ETA from my phone or iPad, I just use the emoji keyboard.

        How to make text smaller (by raising/lowering)

        Found out by accident, but it works only for single words. A blank ends the effect:
        ^Upper ^word -> Upper word (like E=mc^2 -> E=mc2) πŸ‘ˆthe great formula of Edvard Grieg
        ~Lower ~word -> Lower word (like B~b -> Bb)

        Hey Flarum experts, how does this feature work?

        When I go to my profile, I can see "Discussions." Ones I've marked to follow show up, which is great. But I also have one PM thread. It doesn't seem to be reflected in the "count" at the left of the screen, and no other PM discussions show up. .

        How's the count determined, or which PMs show up?

          Gombessa When I visit your profile, and click Discussions, this is what I see:

          So really, what it's showing me is all the Discussions you started. Of course, I don't see your PM discussions, but for you, additionally, it shows PM discussions that you started.

          I guess the bug is that it doesn't include PM discussions in the count for you.

            navindra it shows PM discussions that you started

            I missed that basic part (I think with the index being off and the PM shown, it didn't occur to me that this is stuff I started). Not sure for anyone else, but it doesn't help me much to see the threads/PMs I've started in a top level nav, since I'm just as likely to be as invested in anyone else's thread πŸ™‚

              navindra It’s not really a top-level nav though, it’s meant to be your profile.

              Yep, I get it. There should be somewhere to see all the stuff you've started.

              Practically though, it ends up being somewhat counter-purpose (IMHO). Because if you have an long-running PM with someone, 5 months down the road do you remember if you initiated the conversation, or they did? Or do you mainly want to see all of the live relevant/live conversations associated with your profile, regardless of who first reached out? Just a thought, no request or anything associated here πŸ™‚

                Gombessa Worth discussing so that I understand a little more. I think your profile is primarily for other people, it just so happens that PMs got mixed into it.

                So someone who wants to know more about you, clicks your nickname, sees your Bio, and then sees things you've posted or liked. Discussions is more of a filter on posts. This is similar to Piano World where you can see "Threads Created" and "All Posts" made by someone.

                For yourself, you would just use "All Discussions" or "Private Discussions" or "Following" or "Bookmarks" in the top level nav... then you should be able to reach the discussions that you want.

                I think it would probably be fair to make a case that PMs shouldn't be on your profile... that's just confusing.

                  navindra I think your profile is primarily for other people

                  I think you nailed it. Until you said this, I still wasn't thinking that the profile page is for other people (clearly it is!).

                  navindra I think it would probably be fair to make a case that PMs shouldn't be on your profile... that's just confusing.

                  +1. That would be more clear, sharpen purpose, AND it would help disambiguate who the profile page is targeted to.
