twocats @Sgisela try it out and see what works for you? And then I can add a new tip and if it's ok with you all we can remove all these discussion posts!

@Sgisela quick tap on the right side is working very well for me to remove individual notifications. I did a bunch today!

Any tips on how to embed a YouTube video? I put an embeded video in the recordings section, and it works, but I can't seem to figure out how to hide the embed html.

@PianoMonk I think the forum software is smart enough that you just need to post the link itself. I did so earlier and was surprised that it came out fully embedded ๐Ÿ™‚

Sophia Ah, yes. That worked a treat! Thanks for that.

    Find Private Messages

Go to the home page, and at the top of if you click on Forums there is a drop down, and you can find Private Messages there.

On my laptop (Firefox browser), private discussions can be found along the top, three options to the left of the "start a discussion" button:

On my phone (thankfully, I found it!) there are two triangles to the right of where it says "forums" at the very top, and that's where private discussions shows up.

You gotta love how easy it is to post photos!!! That allow makes the move here worth it! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

    Dismissing A Single Notification

On mobile (Android), a quick but firm tap on the very right side of the notification will clear it without taking you to the post.

It sounds like on iOS, a quick tap on the right will show a check box, which if tapped again will clear the notification.

If anyone has other solutions or experiences on different interfaces, let me know and I'll update this post.

twocats โ€” sorry for the delayed reply. On both my phone and iPad, @navindra โ€™s instructions work (quickly tapping on the right and then immediately tapping the check mark). I think when I initially tried this, I wasnโ€™t understanding the instruction and was doing something wrong, but as Iโ€™ve used it more, Iโ€™ve figured it out. Itโ€™s not very intuitive, but at some point I caught on!

Moving Your Thread to a Different Category

If you're the owner of a thread (you were the person who started it) and decided later that you posted in the wrong category, you don't need to bother the moderators to move it!

Simply click on the three vertical dots in the top right corner (at least on mobile) and click "Edit Tags". Then remove the current tag and select the new one, and the post will appear in the new subforum.

    Find Your Threads

Looking for the threads that you started? Go to Profile and then (on mobile) click the top and a menu will appear, along with other options:

    Recover Drafts

First make sure that "Draft Autosave" is enabled from Profile -> Settings.

If you're in the middle of writing something and then click away and your draft is gone (so frustrating, right??), you can find it in the Drafts area by going to the Homepage and clicking at the top left (on mobile). A list of all your unfinished posts will be there!

I ran into a minor bug - I had the browser sitting open on PT for a few hours while I was out, and when I came back to it, one of my posts had changed to [deleted] as author. Refreshing the page fixed it, but it was odd! @navindra in case

Gombessa it's happened to me sometimes too! The user shows up as deleted and the likes are gone. Unfortunately it seems kinda random and I can't replicate it, so it seems like it would be a tricky bug to file if it can't be consistently reproduced.

Sometimes when I refresh a page it goes back instead. Could that have something to do with it?

Josephine It goes back to the previous page you were on when you refresh the page? How are you refreshing the page?

I think Flarum tries to refresh content dynamically and there are ways of making that work better that are more expensive in terms of server resources. I suspect FreeFlarum has made some optimizations to lessen the load that may be causing some of these bugs.

It's just speculation on my part though. There are some other avenues to investigate.

When I go to the home page (on my phone) there is often an arrow in the left top corner, and when I want to log out I first have to refresh the page to make those 3 lines appear. So I refresh the page by clicking the icon for refreshing a page in my browser (Firefox). And often it works, but sometimes I go back to the previous page instead.
