A lot of great pics here. Yes, posting images here is as easy as cut and paste, as it should be. Here is my Yamaha C3X.

This is the current set up in my tiny studio. Two other grands are hidden in the back.

This one is the infamous 1887 Steinway D with three front duplex scales and angled bridge pins to give strings within a unison a different speaking length.

    Loving all these photos!!

Here is my wife's piano - yes, she has her own piano room! It is a Charles Walter console.

This is my 1960s/70s(?) Kimball Console. This is my "practice piano" for learning the piano technician trade. I'm currently working on tuning a temperament using fourths and fifths as my main intervals, with thirds and sixths to keep me honest. It's been a great instrument for it's purpose and value.

I hope to get some good photos of my "playing" piano tomorrow. I don't do any kind of technical work on that one. I leave it to the pros.

    Maybe a Blüthner one day...

    Beautiful pianos everyone!
Pallas, is that Yamaha a YUS5? I bet it sounds amazing! My first acoustic piano was a Yamaha U1, which is s little shorter than yours. I used to try to record with the front panel off. It sounded fantastic but I could never concentrate with the beauty of the action and the hammers and everything in my face! 😁

Compared to most on this thread, it ain't much. But it's all I've got right now. (Actually, I do have another keyboard that isn't in the picture that I use to throw in the back of the car for rehearsals and perhaps outdoor gigs where the weather might be suspect.)

Wish I had room for a 7' Baldwin or something similar and a budget that allowed for it, not to mention a room large enough to put it. Not gonna happen short of a winning lottery ticket. Can't afford to buy it and don't have time to rebuild one. So...

    Previous set up

    New set up

Don't worry, the husky is still around.

EDIT: I don't know why the second photo came out so blurry. To think, it was taken with a high quality camera. Go figure. Or maybe I'm not a high quality user. Either way I don't want to inundate the thread with excessive pics, so it'll have to do. Sorry :/

Thank you, you answered my question before I had a chance to ask! 🙂

As far as the new setup, what was the rationale? Do you find the new setup more pleasing acoustically?

HeartKeys I didn’t like the feeling of being trapped in a corner and I had also hoped that turning the piano towards the entryway would help improve the tone and temper the volume. The tone did change some - more open, perhaps slightly less compressed or focused. The volume did not change. It still roars.

BTW @MRC I live the music desk on your piano!

@Bellyman , your space looks great to me! I always say that the best instrument is the one we actually have in our house.

ShiroKuro , thanks very much! Actually, one thing that happens for me that wouldn't for many is that I gig. What you see is likely to be a very different picture when I have to play out somewhere as the main keyboard (and usually a backup) will be going with me, plus a bunch of stuff not seen in the picture.

I kinda like practicing on the instrument(s) I'll actually be playing in performance. I know for some that is impossible. For me, that's a good thing because the instruments I'd be likely to be presented with in most of the places I'd play are way inferior to the ones I'd bring. Seriously, have seen some spinets in pretty much unplayable condition. "Thanks, I'll bring my own."

Sam I got that same lego kit from my employees at my marketing agency. I love legos and had a blast assembling it.

Here's the fun combo I play at church. We meet at the Ashland University chapel, so I get to play that old Steinway which (despite the abuse it's endured from being on campus) it still has terrific action and tone. Sometimes, I also bring my Nord Stage 3 like you see here.

I'll circle back next week with photos from home.
