Rubens
I don't know what the norm is here, I only visited one piano store so far.
I want to look at new high end uprights but it's a bit unfair of me, because I can't afford them. I want to know what a very good upright piano in excellent shape feels like before I'm going to look for a used piano to make it easier to recognize the things that are wrong with a used piano. And it's also because I'm restoring my own upright. I have to know what a good piano action feels like to know what else I have to restore. So that's even more unkind of me.
I'm very curious about the Grotrian Steinweg G-132. That's the first one on my list. I was looking on the website of a dealer and I read when you buy one you can choose your piano in the factory in Germany. They drive you there and pay for the hotel, and the next day you get a tour in the factory and after that you can try some pianos and pick the one you like most. That's so great! I'm going to buy a lottery ticket tomorrow 🙂
