That's how I wish everyone would regard PIYW. Something fun to do as a group, even if the result isn't perfect.
WieWaldi Don't know what version of this lick comes closest, but what I hear from 1:06 to 1:08 is still different. I think it is decending to my ears with a slide in the beginning.

Yes, I like that version, and my practice recording is similar. Plus it makes it easier for the singing part. But I've changed direction since I posted that, so I don't know what the "Don't Know Why" final version will sound like.
WieWaldi It has this late night athomosphere of a downtown bar, 3 am. All guest are gone, the barkeeper started cleaning, the chairs are already on the tables. Somewhere in a corner a man with a hat is sleeping, his jar of whisky almost empty. And in the middle of the room, there is an upright with a pianist, tired of playing all evening long. Actually, too tired to go home. That's why he is still playing.
Hm, was I tired when I recorded? I think I was trying to get a recording done quickly before going to work! But I'm glad your impression is of my fantasy and not my reality!
