As you know, Samick is the brand or make, so this GR part is the model name. GR probably means grand, 172 is the length in centimeters, and E I would guess means ebony, if your piano is black, then I’m right.

This is likely the serial number, and it’s this number which will help you find out the age of your piano.

Your piano was probably made in 1997. If you can see anywhere on your piano that indidcstes it was made in Korean, then this is most likely correct.
