What isn't true about it? Are you saying that playing a L:H G Major scale doesn't start on 5? Or that you can just willy nilly play the individual notes in the scale with any finger you please?
The LH G Major scale fingering pattern is as shown here:

The finger pattern is 5,4,3,2,1,3,2,1,4,3,2,1,3,2,1 and then reverse to descend.
So what's not true about what I posted?
