The harmony at 1:10 ish is in the lead sheet version in Bb, I just improvised arpeggios over it.
Yes that is a bad habit of mine, I do tend to speed up a little, particularly when playing solo Piano and especially if I get excited during an improvisation. The jarring jam session was something that came out in the first take and I decided to keep it.
My first run through was actually okay, and I could have used that, but I didn't record it. My only other real prep was listening to the tune, which I used to know, but had forgotten.
You should be very proud of what you've achieved in such a short space of time. I've been playing the Piano since about 1970, and playing blues and Jazz since the early 1980s. Relative to how long you've been playing your performance was far better than mine.
