Thanks @MarieJ ! Yes, "Relaxed" and "Forest 1" came out of the same recording session, about 15 minutes apart.

Ornstein rogerch The shift in harmony at 2:25 is fantastic, it sounds like D maj chord with the C# on top, but in context it feels like a minor chord's color quality there. Maybe it's the C#-D minor second in the RH melody. Nice improvisation skills, I get a gothic/medieval forest image in my head listening.

Thanks @Ornstein ! Your comment prompted me to go back and try to figure out what I was doing there, which I really should do more of to try and build a stronger connection between my conscious mind and the part of me that plays these improvisations!

keff As Time Goes By by Herman Hupfield - Yeah, that first verse is not very memorable - I can see why they cut it - good choice. From the chorus on its a great song. Well done!

Schubertian2 Sonata Opus 109 by Beethoven - One of my teachers always made me start a new piece without pedal - I hated it! But it is a good exercise to encourage you to play legato with the fingers. On the other hand, the pedal is there, and it adds so much. So put it back when your leg heals!

The leg has healed! I can pump the 'loud pedal', as I used to call it, all I like!
But the more I look at this the more insight I have into Beethoven's (Beethoven specifically) unique notation. I think i will start a thread on the Adult Beginner's - um - that forum - about it. The more I look at this the more I see.

I love listening to a work-in-progress, because it reveals just how much effort goes into every bar of the score. Steady ‘progress’ is more achievable than ‘perfection’ and I think this one is coming along nicely (particularly at the 4-day mark)!

I agree - with such a lot going on in this composition, it really was magic. A stellar performance, particularly while recovering from your smashed finger!

Re my Richter submission - I’m totally unfamiliar with Yamaha’s ‘Suitcase Piano’. Pianoteq’s layering is intended to sound like a unique instrument; I experimented at length, choosing among combinations of ‘felted’ and ‘New Age’ voices. (And my apologies: I realised a never replied to your question about recording I Giorni. Yes, it was all done in one take - after about a thousand unsuccessful attempts.)

Gooseberry Thanks, that's exactly what I was aiming for. Previously I've struggled to play "smoothly and without hesitations" but I felt that I played this piece better than some of my previous recital submissions.

I didn't know it either, I only knew how to play the piano, luf is a measure of audio volume, you can see that the youtube videos have to be raised to that measure, and this piece is far below so it sounds low volume, I didn't know about the lufs..Tema reaper, is a sound editor, which is used to master once recorded the sound hahahahaha it has taken me 3 months to finish half mastering it. And now my recordings sound a little better. This was the first one and you can hear my beginnings!
