Schubertian2 Sonata Opus 109 by Beethoven - One of my teachers always made me start a new piece without pedal - I hated it! But it is a good exercise to encourage you to play legato with the fingers. On the other hand, the pedal is there, and it adds so much. So put it back when your leg heals!
