I'm moving into Faber's level 4 books and I'm buying the set of 4 (and not all 7) since it no longer comes as an all-in-one.

Anyone have any experience in how the lessons have the student moving between the books? Or do I have to manage my time on my own?

    I started with Bastien books and then Alfred's 1-2. Later got into Faber Adult Piano Adventures 1-2.

    Along the way there were online downloads. There is 1 site with beginner and lower intermediate pieces my teacher downloaded before: https://makingmusicfun.net/htm/printit_piano_sheet_music_index

    Right now the teacher is getting into RCM level 3 books. I'm not just playing from any set of repertoire books. There are a lot of online downloading including arrangements of Christmas music.

    I think that your lesson book is the ground that you are building and the other books are the extras. For instance, in the Technique & Artistry book, isn't it mentioned at the bottom of the page at what page in the lesson book you should be in order to play a certain piece in the T&A book?

    But if there is no such information, I would start with the Lesson book and see which pieces in the Performance and T&A books, and chapters in the theory books, fit with the things that you have learned in the lessons.

    Player1 If your editions are the same as mine were, the lesson book has a list in the front shows the order of movement between the books.

    I'm in level 5 now and they don't even have a list like that in the front of the lesson book. I initially thought I'd just have to wing it, but I discovered there are teeny tiny instructions printed sideways in the margins on what page in what book comes next.

      The books won't be here until next week so I'll have to wait to check. Not that I'm in any rush, I'm only up to about 10 minutes on the bench before I have to quit for a couple of days.

      On an upnote; I have the first phrase of Passacaglia under my fingers. It's really bad, and the second to last measure is horrible, but it's recognizable. More practice required.

      Ok, my books are here and instead of a list there are symbols on the bottom of the page which (supposedly) cross reference to the other books.

      I've decoded three:
      Book = Lesson Book
      Pencil = Theory Book
      Hand = Technique Book

      What are the eye glasses and the rose? (They probably reference books that come in the expanded set which I don't have. If so I can skip those.)

      As for the Performance Book, I suppose I play the appropriate piece along with the piece in the lesson book? I assume this is done after learning the one in the lesson book.

      Getting started and coordinating all of this is going to take a bit of juggling practice.

        Good. I'm using the Sight Reading Factory for sight reading so I don't need the Faber for that.

        Flipping through the pages of the books, I noticed that this level seems to begin to concentrate more on arm/wrist/hand movements. There are even names for the various movements.
