These days one must expect online data to be stolen regularly. I suggest take these precautions.

Set credit security freeze at all three credit reporting agencies
Enable MFA for all online accounts that offers it
Do not re-use passwords, instead use a password manager to generate unique and random password for each account/login
Guard your main email account (MFA, complex password) and your phone (passcode)
Do not click on links sent to you. If needed, type the link, check the SSL padlock before entering your login info.
Never give your real date of birth to any social media.

Never give real information on those password reset/account verification questions: "Name of first school" "Mother's maiden name" "Father's middle name". Instead, use a password manager and keep track of those dummy responses there.
