According to Wiki:

Coda is a 2019 Canadian drama film directed by Claude Lalonde (in his directorial debut) and written by Louis Godbout. The film stars Patrick Stewart, Katie Holmes, and Giancarlo Esposito. It follows a famous pianist struggling with stage fright late in his career who finds inspiration from a free-spirited music critic.

If you’ve seen it, would you recommend it?

Not seen this film but Patrick Stewart was born in an area of the UK only a few miles from where I was born. He held the post of Chancellor of Huddersfield university some years ago which is well known for its strong music department. Huddersfield is near to the town where he was raised.

ShiroKuro I have just been watching some YT vids in which Stewart talks about participating in the film. He admits he is not a musician and cannot play piano. However he took some coaching to make it appear he could play.

Interesting bc! I am still curious about the film. It looks like it’s on Amazon Prime.

I’ll add it to my list of one gifted other things I want to watch.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only person here who prefers to spend time at the piano breather than watching shows… 😁

I have seen Coda three times. Yes, that’s a lot but I really liked the movie. The soundtrack is wonderful, and the acting is superb, especially Patrick Stewart’s performance. I highly recommend it. Stewart does not play the piano but he does a good job of faking it. The piano is played by a Ukranian-Canadian (?) concert pianist.
