I enjoyed this video of a recent performance, that featured a duet, with two of my favorite concert pianos, the Yamaha CFX and Bosendorfer 280VC. In general, duets are fun to watch when they're two different pianos, e.g., a recent one I enjoyed was a duet of a Steinway Model D and a Shigeru Kawai SK-EX.

I prefer having two different pianos, versus two identical pianos side by side. πŸ™‚

Totally agreed! With two different kinds of pianos and thus two different voices, it’s more like a conversation, as what a duet is meant to be.

HeartKeys Thank you for posting this. To my ears, HUGE difference in tonal palate with the CFX being "brighter and more silvery" and the Bosendorfer "darker and more coppery". There was also a difference in the attack with the CFX having a more immediate attack than the Bosendorfer. To my ears, the gent on the Bosendorfer was having some trouble making it articulate clearly - it sounded a bit on the muddy side, over pedaled, perhaps, to me.
