BartK, I hear what you're saying. In all honesty, if they were going to pick a time and stick to it, I would prefer DST here, as I think that would work better than standard time.
As someone who doesn't have a 9-5 job... my "job" is closer to what people would consider "farming"... I don't really care all that much about what a clock says. I care much more about, "what time does it get light" and "what time does it get dark". That is what would dominate my schedule because some stuff is just better in the daylight.
But yeah, I get that others might live in places where it makes more of a difference. It's not a huge difference in latitude between me and our son who lives in Scottsdale, AZ. They do not change their clocks. And somehow they do just fine. A few other places don't change as well and they do well. If there are things that really do work well earlier or later in the day, it is not out of the realm of possibility for schools, churches, businesses, etc., to change the hours that they are open to accommodate seasonal variations in how daytime falls on the clock.
At least we don't live in Alaska. LOL!!
