Bluthner Style 5 (1925)

I'm really digging the tones of this restored Bluthner. This is what I imagined the VSL 1895 Bluthner sounding like. Alas, not so much. I like this one, in this video more.

Albeit, I wonder how much audio post-processing there was on this. If it's not much processing, then I'd say this is one heck of a dreamy piano!

It's a pretty enough sound but it's lacking in a lot of body of tone and doesn't have as much color as it should. Hmmm. Especially in the upper register which seems to have died a little. Blüthners should have a really singing treble and this piano doesn't have that.

By the way the 1895 VSL also has some of that weakness, and is a bit out of tune I think. I have an 1895 as everyone knows by now and it doesn't have any of these problems.

ALSO why is it when I see a piano is from 1925, my mind thinks it's about 75 years old and not almost 100 years old....? What strange vortex is this?

TC3 Ah yes the 80s were 20 years ago, the 60s were 30 years ago, the year 2000 was about 7 years ago, and 2015 was last year. I get it.
