I like it all - the placement of the piano, the way it looks, the way it sounds, and your recording. Me, I don't think you need to add any reverb with the mic placement you were using. As to Bluthner vs. Steinway - you already know it's about taste. That said, one of the big reasons to choose Steinway, is that Steinways PROJECT, which matters if you're playing in a large space, larger than an average living room for example. Bluthners, OTOH, work fine in the sort of space you have, and I played in a concert on one in a museum in Germany that had seating for about 100 where it worked fine in a room much more resonant than most small halls in the USA. Anyhow - I like the Bluthner for you in your space and for use as a house instrument. If you don't need to go out and play concerts on a Steinway, you might find the Bluthner just perfect for your needs. Congratulations on your new piano, and keep making and sharing music with it.
