Listening research
Checking out existing recordings to see if there's anything to inspire me, or if I really like it, to pilfer. The obvious one is Norah accompanying herself on piano. Simple accompaniment, a little bluesy, entirely within my skill level (except for the singing).
Sangah Noona's version is also singing + piano. More funky rhythms, not normally a style I like, but maybe I like it for this song?
Jacob Collier, piano + singing. As always, plenty of harmonic surprises. I don't know if I can take anything from this recording, but it's an interesting listen.
There is also Jacob Koller, who does a nice jazz arrangement:
Pat Metheny, solo guitar. Pedal points often emphasized more than the chromatic hook (though he lets the upper voices slide down smoothly, and there's lots of chromaticism elsewhere). Fun harmonies to explore.

Next step is to take the parts I like, analyze them, and incorporate.
