I did similar (though I doubt I cleared the pedal near enough.)
In so many measures there's a conclusion of a cadence on beat three or four and that's where a clearing of the dissonance of the note prior would help.
I tried in some places to play those areas without pedal and, to my ear, it sounded too austere. And, when I did a full pedal, it seemed too noticeable, so I'm trying with "half pedal" and not entirely sure I'm accomplishing it enough. The tech seems to support it (the various plug-ins have a way to see if it's activated and, in some cases, the degree.)
I should take your example (and the Ffrench video) and play it at a slower tempo to work on pedaling in those areas more (full vs. half vs. none.)
