playing with a score

I guess I'm one of those "natural memorizers," but I don't think that's always a good thing. I'd like to get more comfortable playing with sheet music in front of me, but I'm wondering how y'all approach that. Do you keep your eyes on the score most of the time, only occasionally glancing at your hands for larger leaps, etc.? Or are you looking away from the score (at your hands, at the audience, at the ceiling ... ), only occasionally glancing at the score to remind yourself what comes next? Or something else entirely?
