Truly though, the diversity of what Yamaha not only does but excels in is astounding.

navindra Indeed! Here is what I know of:

pianos (digital and acoustic)
probably all band/orchestra instruments
guitars and basses
drums
motor boats and other small engines
drones
motorcycles and scooters

I'm pretty sure there are other things that should be on that list. Pretty crazy!

But the cool thing is that their first product was keyboard instruments. 🙂

BTW I should add that I teach a Japanese business class where students are required to do a project, which culminates in a presentation (in Japanese), where they research a Japanese company and do a company profile, talk about the history of the company etc. and then end with a discussion of what challenges the company is facing and what the student would recommend for the company to continue or improve its success in the future.

I always do a short presentation about Yamaha as a sample.

As I'm sure you know that first picture is from "Breaking Bad".

I owned a couple of small Yamaha motorcycles when I was a teenager, and am still a biker to this day.

No longer own that one, but it was one hell of a bike.

I did not know that. I never saw that show, it came out while I was in grad school, which was right after we returned to the U.S. from 12 years in Japan. So there’s a period of close to 20 years that I know virtually nothing about American TV culture. Actually, before I went to Japan (while I was in undergrad), I didn’t own a tv, so my knowledge about American TV, well and basically English-language TV or movies in general, is very limited.
