If I’m not mistaken, we don’t have a thread like this here at PT, so let’s make one! I’m envisioning this thread as a place to share photos of interesting and unusual pianos, whether you love or hate them.

I’ll start. Saw this on Facebook:

The poster said it’s a Custom-designed Haessler Piano, and the design company is associated with Blunther.

It is absolutely not my cup of tea. I don’t like clear lids, and I can’t imagine how it sounds on that marble floor. Also, I don’t understand the camel. But it’s fun to look at! 😃

I'm intrigued by that one. I don't hate it. Certainly don't love it . But I feel that with a few tweaks it could be quite nice. Certainly change the lid, and the shiny gold stripe. Perhaps try a burnished matt dark texture for the finish?
The camel is perplexing. As is the slide at one end of the stool. Is that to dispose of the piano books you get annoyed by? "Too many flats. Down the slide it goes".

Good timing! Just this morning I saw a picture of a piano that I'd never seen before and genuinely find attractive (one of the few times when I don't think my own one is nicer!)

Monviso that S&S is very pretty!! The Schimmel Pegasus is super interesting and I agree, it works well in red. But it's obviously not designed by an actual player -- if it was, the bench would be movable!!

I genuinely like Schimmel's Pegasus. And I like it red. (even though I'm firmly in the wood-finish camp for pianos!)

I lik Sauter Artes upright, although I could do without the metal legs.

I was curious - especially as quite a few have been sold - to Prince, Lenny Kravitz and Eddie Murphy amongst others. And found it is ajustable: "extendible in width, adjustable in height, distance to keyboard adjustable".

That was on their brochure, where I discovered that there is also a Pegasus upright. Also quite amazing - so thanks for this thread as I'm delighted to have discovered it!

I imagine a piano tuner/tech coming to a home to do his job, seeing one of these, and just stopping for a moment, letting his shoulder slump a bit, and giving out a deep sigh.

Those Pegasus look retrofuturistic. They look like they were designed by Roger Dean or Jean Giraud. Even though they are cool, they also look like something I could find in a hair salon. It makes me think that if I played some of those, someone would come out of nowhere and give me an unsolicited haircut.

Gotta say the legs in that Sauter are growing on me. Reminds me of old American diners in movies. At least it has legs. Upright pianos without legs underneath the keyboard look wrong to me, as if the keyboard would fall down with a fortissimo.

I used to hate legless uprights! (That's what I call them). But then I owned one. I ended up buying it because I liked how it sounded, but initially I actively disliked how it looked. It grew on me though. It was also a very pretty color. I'll see if I can find a photo.

In the end though, I was very happy to let it go when I got my grand!

Yep, here's a photo. It was a Petrof. This photo doesn't do justice to the color it was.

I almost didn't go to play it because I disliked how it looked so much! 😃 I ended up keeping it for maybe almost four years I think.

Anyway @CrisOliveira I agree with you, the legless aspect makes them look like they'll topple over if you at them funny!
