For a lack of a better place to ask this, I'm asking in Members recordings.
I record audio directly from the output of the virtual piano. I record video on my iPhone and then combine the two using iMovie on my mac.
What I find is that the video and audio recordings have been saved at slightly different speeds. To minimize this as best I can, I aim for the audio and video to be fully in sync during the middle of the piece. So for a 5 minute piece the audio and video will be in sync at the 2:30 mark.
To achieve this, at the beginning of the recording I'll align the tracks in iMovie so that the audio will be delayed by a fraction of a second compared to the video, you see the movement of the finger playing the note before you hear the sound. By the end of the piece the opposite is happening, you hear the sound of the note being played and then a fraction of a second later see the movement of the finger playing the note.
Is there something I'm missing to either stop this happening in the first place? Or is there something I can do speed up the playback of the video compared to the audio ever so slightly within iMovie?
