ranjit wow that’s fantastic! Congratulations! 🎉🎶🎉
Could you share some of the rep you prepared for the audition?
Also, I’m interested in the fact that you were admitted to the masters program without having a BA in music. In my day job, I’m a uni prof so my mind always goes to curricular details! When we do something like that (i.e., admit a grad student whose BA was in a different field), the student usually has to do extra coursework to fill in the gaps. Will you have to do anything similar? Either way, I would love to hear about the coursework and performance requirements you’ll have to complete in the program.
Speaking of which, how long is the masters program? One year, two years, or is it variable?
I don’t know if you’ve seen my posts about this, but starting last semester, I enrolled as a non-degree seeking student at the university where I work so that I could take lessons on campus in my uni’s music school. I’m in the program for non-music majors, and my teacher is a PhD student in piano performance. (I just have a regular, one-hour private lesson once a week, but I also receive a grade each lesson and have to play for a jury for the final). Through her, I’ve heard a lot about the music program here and the activities that music students do. It’s very intense, but sounds like a wonderful program. I’m sure yours will be similar in that regard!
Anyway, congratulations again and I hope you’ll share things with us as you go along!
