pianoloverus Terrific piece and terrific playing! Can you tell us your musical background in piano and composition study?
joeritenuto pianoloverus Thank you, pianoloverus. I'm a self-taught musician. I've learned primarily by absorbing and playing the music I love, especially certain Romantic era composers as well as early American theater music like Gershwin, Rodgers, Loewe, etc.
pianocat Nocturnes might be my favorite genre of piano music (that and ragtime, which I realize is pretty much the anti-nocturne). This one is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
diretonic I love your Nocturne, come to that a lot of your writing sounds extraordinarily good. I wondered since you're using a vst instrument delivering what sound to me like flawless performances in this and other of your videos, if you're using a sequencer?
joeritenuto diretonic Thank you! Yes, I perform multiple takes into Reaper and then make edits as necessary, the way one would do in a recording studio.
joeritenuto danno858 Thanks, danno858! Yes, I have other music on my YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/@joeritenuto
pianoloverus joeritenuto Yes, I have other music on my YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/@joeritenuto Wow! I just listened to your two short preludes on Youtube channel and really liked them. Somehow they reminded me a bit of early Scriabin. I recommend others have have a listen to them.
