By the way, I notice you often seem to be playing a different piano in your video (a S&S grand, a Yamaha grand, and now this Yamaha, which I presume is an upright)

It must be fun to be able to play so many different pianos! Where do you do these recordings?

For now, I'll focus on Chopin etudes and some easier pieces. This is one of those pieces that will sound far better if you learn it when it falls into your hands naturally and you have the technique for it, I think. I feel like most people don't do justice to Liszt, and really want my rendition to have that kind of musical depth when it gets to that point. I am very particular with how I think Liszt should sound, and you have to be very imaginative to avoid it sounding just like the notes, to the point where you almost don't hear the notes much at all.

I also have an opinion about how Liszt should sound, which is why I will never attempt his Sonata, despite it being one of my favorites! There is no way my technique will improve to the point I could even approach how I want it to sound. And if I tried, I'm sure I would end up hating the piece, due to all the repetition and failure.
