Anyone here do arranging?

I really want to play this on a piano but there isn't any arrangement of it.

I think it could be arranged for an intermediate player but that's not my strength at all. If anyone would like to take a crack at it, I'd be interested in the result.

Yes. It's actually well known in Ireland and is sung by nearly everyone.

I have the sheet music for violin but all of the piano arrangements I've discovered sound awful. What I'd like is for someone to arrange that particular version I linked above. If you listen you can separate the hands and the background track without too much trouble. I'm not a composer or arranger and I'm unable to come up with the melody or bass on my own. I've tried and it doesn't work.

I like this song. Thanks for mentioning it. I do piano arrangements for my YouTube channel. I think I’ll take a crack at this one in the near future. I can post it to this thread when it’s ready. It will take a little bit of time.

This would be so wonderful if it can be done. Personally, I think a piano version of the linked arrangement would be a hit because of the dramatic effect in it. Most of the others are so bare bones they're actually boring, or worse - cringy, to listen to.

I even thought of sending Anna Lapwood a link and asking if she knew anyone who could arrange it for her to play. It would sound amazing in the Royal Prince Albert Hall and the organ there certainly has the reach to do it justice.

Sometimes you can get by with a lead sheet version. I play some Christmas pieces off lead sheets. I'm not trying to reproduce specific arrangements but anything that would sound acceptable. Play around with the notes of the LH chords as I go.

I'm not capable of doing that. I have no talent or skill for improvisation and I need full written scores to play. Although I'm capable of writing lyrics, I can't set them to music. I know what they're supposed to sound like, I can even sing the pieces I've written (all 3 of them in the past 20 years. Prolific I'm not.) but I cannot do more than that. In this I'm just like Michael Jackson, and probably many other music performers. The difference is that they have a team of composers and songwriters who do it for them and I don't.
